Tuesday 11/11Tuesday 11/11

Everyone took a timed multiplication quiz today on the 1s and 2s.  They are in the process of creating a bar graph using their results that they can share with you at their portfolio sharing conference in the spring.  Their actual quizzes will be sent home in their Friday folder.  While my goal is to teach for understanding, it is also important that students have speed and accuracy when it comes to their mathematical facts.

Last Friday was Junior Achievement day!  Mr. DiVito volunteered in our classroom.  Junior Achievement is a volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade program that fosters work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and uses experiential learning to inspire students to dream big and reach their potential.  JA students develop the skills they need to experience the realities and opportunities of work and entrepreneurship in the 21st-century global marketplace. Check out their website for more information.
