Finding the perimeter of a shape requires careful adding, so does creating a shape with a given perimeter! Today in math class a perimeter was given (for example: 24 inches).  Students were challenged to create a two-dimensional shape with the perimeter they were given.  The class discovered that different shapes can have the same perimeter – what a neat self-discovery!  They were asked to take a photo of a shape with a perimeter of 14 inches and email it to me with their tablets… check out a couple actions photos below:
