We had a fun morning with a couple of guest speakers! Officer Friendly came to discuss internet safety, bullying (including cyberbullying), and strangers. Everyone received an Arlington Heights Police pencil and a police badge sticker.
Mrs. Riggs, our school’s Innovative Learning Coach, introduced a new app called Lensoo. Students used their tablets to create a presentation of themselves explaining how to find the area and perimeter of a figure. Please ask your child to share their creation with you!
Tomorrow is our school’s Halloween celebration. Students should not wear their costumes, masks, or make-up to school! They will be given time to change into their costumes after lunch. If your child has returned their permission slip stating that they will be going home to eat lunch and change into their costume, they will be dismissed from door #2 at noon. They must enter through the main doors of the school, door #1, no later than 1:15p.m.
Tomorrow schedule is as follows:
12:00-12:50pm Regular Lunch Period (12:00-1:15 if child is taken out of school)
12:50-1:25pm Classroom time/ costume changes
1:30-1:45pm Halloween Tiger Talk Student Broadcast
2:00-2:30pm Outdoor Juliette Low Ghost and Goblin Parade (Weather Permitting)
Indoor location in case of rain will be the gym for all visitors
2:30-2:40pm Classroom Parties
3:40-3:50 Clean up and dismissal
Please remember that candy is not allowed to be brought to school and passed out to classmates. Non-edible items or healthy snacks are allowed. You are not obligated to bring in any snacks!
