Blizzard Nights

A flyer will be sent home a few days before each school performance so you can pre-order ice cream to enjoy with your family after your child’s show.

Box Tops

Look for Box Tops logo on your favorite products and Bonus Box Tops days at your favorite stores. Cut out the Box Tops and send them into school to participate in fun Box Tops contests including Crazy Hair Day, Pajama Day, extra PE periods, and so on. The PTO receives money for the Box Tops and the children enjoy the prizes.

Book Fair

Book Fair offers a wonderful opportunity to purchase books for your family, friends, and teachers. Volunteers are needed to help children with their wish lists and to help with the purchase of books.

Buzz Book

A school telephone directory (the Buzz Book) is distributed to each child in the school. The book is organized by class and is invaluable to students and parents alike.

Cultural Arts

Each year the PTO sponsors a number of cultural assemblies and a field trip during the school day for the students’ benefit. Parents and siblings are invited to attend. Assemblies are themed around history, science, math, fitness, character, music, literature, and so on.

ExploreMore Day

Children participate in three special 50-minute classes that they have requested beforehand. Some of the classes are led by outside vendors, and many of the classes are led by parents. Classes vary from year to year and have included: arts and crafts, cooking, science, sports, dance, animals, and many more. Many volunteers are needed to make this day a success.

Fun Fair

The Fun Fair is a carnival-like family event. Children purchase tickets to play carnival games, have their faces painted, participate in a cake walk, put their friends “in jail,” and try to win a lunch with a favorite teacher. Pizza and other snacks are available for purchase. Items from local merchants are raffled off as well. Many volunteers are needed to make this night a success—both in the planning stages and the night of the event.

Hospitality

This committee arranges for refreshments at PTO functions, organizes the PTO Dinner, and sends correspondence on behalf of the PTO.

Membership

The 1st Vice President on the PTO Board oversees the collection of membership dues.

Spirit Wear Clothing

This committee coordinates the Juliette Low Spirit Wear sale in the fall. Shirts, hats, sweatpants and more that are embroidered with the Juliette Low logo are available for purchase for the whole family.

School Supply Kits

As a service to the families at Juliette Low the PTO organizes the purchase of school supply kits. This service allows families to purchase school supplies for the next year in a one stop shop. Orders are placed in the Spring for the following school year.

Room Parent

A room parent is needed for each classroom. Room parents work with the teacher to schedule volunteers for their child’s classroom as needed. You will schedule parents to plan and bake for the Halloween and Holiday parties. In addition room parents coordinate the holiday and end of the year gifts for their classroom teacher.

Manna Scrips Gift Cards

Scrips gifts cards is a fundraiser new to Juliette Low this year. Order gift cards quarterly to give as gifts or to use for yourself at stores you already frequent. A percentage of your purchase goes back to the PTO.

Track and Field Day

Organized by our Physical Education teacher, Track and Field Day gets the whole school involved in a day of fitness. Obstacle courses, jump stick, kickball and relay races are just a few of the day’s events. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate each activity.

Yearbook & Pictures

This committee coordinates the school pictures in the fall and spring. Volunteers are needed to assist students on picture day. This committee also puts together the yearbook, a wonderful keepsake for the students. Pictures of school activities and events are always needed, so contact the committee chair if you have any copies.
