DROP-OFF & PICK-UP SAFETY CHANGES
Welcome back to another great school year at Juliette Low Elementary School! As always, it is imperative to work together to make safety the “Number 1” priority on our school campus. Please read the following drop-off and pick-up guidelines carefully. These must be strictly followed to insure the safety of everyone.
Circle Drive Procedures – For Busses Only
-
- Circle Drive – The circle drive is for buses only during the hours of 8:15-9:15 AM and 3:05-3:50 PM.
- Door 1 – Please note, ONLY BUSSERS will be entering door 1 (front of the building) between 8:25-8:45.
- Late Arrivals – Students arriving after the 8:45 am bell must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and buzzed in through door 1 to sign your child in at the main office.
- Safety – Please use the crosswalks. Never walk between busses when entering the building.
Kiss & Drive Procedures – For Student Drop off & Walkers
- Drop-off: The Kiss & Drive Drop Zone has a new location – outside doors 2 & 3 on the west side of the building
- Kiss & Drive = No parking – Absolutely no parking is allowed in the Kiss and Drive Drop Zone.
- Safety – Do not pull away from the Drop Zone until the front vehicles have pulled away.
- Never allow children to exit on the street side. In the winter, snow will be removed next to vehicles 1 and 2 for easy exiting.
- Safety – Do not make U-Turns into neighboring driveways. It only takes a few extra moments to go around the block or go down to the park district and turn around in their circle.
- Parking – unattended cars will be permitted on the north side of the building in the following areas:
- Street parking in front of the Circle Drive – Highland Ave (not part of the Kiss & Drive Area)
- Street parking in front of the staff parking lot – Highland Ave (not part of the Kiss & Drive Area)
Our School Resource Officer from the Arlington Heights Police Department will be monitoring the traffic, as well as overall school safety. If you should witness anyone who is putting student safety at risk, please report the incident, as well as important information such as the license plate number, make and color of the car, etc. to Officer Veenstra. You may call the police department at 847.368.5310. Thank you for your cooperation. Remember it is important to model best safety practices for your children at all times. If you have questions or suggestions regarding the Drop-off/Pick-up procedures, please contact me.
